Copyright Notices and Permission Statement
Borneo Sabda Limited owns all proprietary copyrights, title and all other related rights in and to the Bible text in the Malay language under the formal title of “Alkitab Versi Borneo, Hak cipta © 2015 Borneo Sabda Limited”.
Permission statement
The AVB text may be quoted (in written, visual, or electronic form) up to and inclusive of one thousand (1000) verses without express written permission of the copyright owner, providing that the verses quoted do not amount to a complete book of the Bible nor do the verses quoted account for twenty-five percent (25%) or more of the total text of the work in which they are quoted.
The AVB text may be quoted for audio use (audio cassettes, CD’s, DVD’s, audio television) up to one thousand (1000) verses without express written permission of the copyright owner providing that the verses quoted do not amount to a complete book of the Bible nor do the verses quoted account for twenty-five percent (25%) or more the total text of the work in which they are quoted.
Notice of copyright must appear as follows on the title page or copyright page of printed works quoting from the AVB, or in a corresponding location when the AVB is quoted in other media:
“Alkitab Versi Borneo © Borneo Sabda Limited”
“Dipetik daripada Alkitab © Borneo Sabda Limited”, or
“Alkitab Versi Borneo, Hak Cipta © Borneo Sabda Limited”.
When more than one translation is quoted in printed works or another media, the foregoing notice of copyright should begin as follows:
“Unless otherwise indicated, all Scriptures are from the Alkitab Versi Borneo, copyright © 2015 Borneo Sabda Limited,” or,
“Scripture quotations marked AVB are from Alkitab Versi Borneo, copyright © 2015 Borneo Sabda Limited.”
When quotations from the AVB text are used in non-saleable media, such as church bulletins, orders of services, posters, transparencies, or similar media, a complete copyright notice is not required, but the initials — “AVB” — must appear at the end of a quotation.
Publication of any commentary or other biblical reference work produced for commercial sale that uses the Alkitab Versi Borneo must include written permission for the use of the AVB text.
